I find your lack of rhythm disturbing.

I haven't played the game in a loooooonnnngggg time, so I don't know if my opinions on this will make a whole lot of sense... but, whatever. Tongue

I always thought Vagrant Story was meant to be the first part of a series.  My main (well, only) reason for thinking is this is that, as I recall, there were a few mentions of a Cardinal, in the game; the man behind Guildenstern who sent him to Lea Monde to procure either the Dark itself, or the Gran Grimoire or... something, I don't remember, lol.  Anyway, my point is, I thought the Cardinal was meant to be the main villain of the sequel(s).  Sort of making Guildenstern a Darth Vader-like figure, with the Cardinal being his Emperor (because... the Emperor didn't show up until Empire...). Smiley

Or I could just be entirely wrong, I dunno.

-Surtur doesn't remember Vagrant Story that well anymore, he needs to play through it again.

That's an interesting way to look at, and I can see what you mean.  I'm sure the Cardinal, if so powerful and desparate in controlling the Dark, would have no problems sending someone after Merlose to quiet her, or after our pal Ashley, the heir to said Dark powers.

If only it would keep the same battle system and just tweak a tiny bit to get rid of some of the little problems... we'd have another excellent game to pass the time with.

For sure, Vagrant Story was meant to be the beginning of the tale, recounting how Ashley becomes a 'vagrant' ... so one would hope a sequel would be in the works, but the game sold so poorly, it's not all that likely ;(

But Xenogears sold poorly as well, at least here in North America, yet we had a right to (what appears to be lame, but I can't really judge on that) prequel...  Tongue

It indeed would be awesome, and I'd definitely buy it. Seeing some more of that wonderful story and battle system just makes me... drool. Anyway, I actually doubt Square-Enix will develop a sequel one day. If I remember correctly, I don't think VS was that big of a success for Square, and those guys are known for producing sequels to series that pay off big money. Everyone would probably like to see a sequel to the Chrono-series, but Square normally concentrates on more profitable series like FF, series that are better known among the general public... the bastards... Cheesy
