Reference & Glossary section is incomplete!

as i was thinking of what purpose Abel could have in Xenosaga (and PW as it is said his contact with Zohar might not have been an accident) i turned to the in-game Xenogears dialogue and one thing that i noted was that Abel (or The Contact) had a legend about him;
'Anonelbe', the long awaited man of god who would take the people born on this planet to a new horizon. such is the destiny of -The Contact-.
now, what could this mean? and more importantly, why the hell isn't Anonelbe in your list of references?

Hrm. About that, I've found it confusing in some parts. Old man Bal commented on the gear as the God Destroyer...
So, how does being the contact who's supposed to bring people to god ... also somehow is supposed to destroy god?
I feel like I'm missing out on something. >_<

Well, Deus brought the people to him... and ate them.

Deus crashes on a planet and Abel's the only survivor. Duh.

Fei is a mad man with multiple personas
...Zohar was brought onto the Eldridge, where Abel made Contact with it. Deus was activated, and it connected with Zohar but the Eldridge was destroyed and Zohar was seperated from Deus and thrown into a underground cavern in the northern part of the world. The Zohar also powered all the slave generators in the Gears. Later on in the game Fei's friends return to the underground cavern to rescue him but in the meantime Fei reunites his "personas" and makes contact with Zohar. It depends on how the Zohar's power is used.
Old Man Bal says "This is... the host for the spirit of the slayer of God..." referring to weltall and fei (that's what I thought he meant). The power Zohar changes Weltall-2 into Xenogears then Zohar becomes connected with Deus, which uses it to terraform the world... The Zohar Modifier is the ultimate power source, it provides an infinite amount of energy...again, it all depends on how the power of the Zohar is used I suppose...anyways, that's how I took the whole "slayer of god" thing.

oh i see how it is, you never could find the reference for Anonelbe could you? but why not include
all
names in the A-Z and then simply have it "unlinked" so people wouldn't think you had simply overlooked it..

i don't know what Old man Bal meant actually, but i think he might have known about Id's connection to Grahf and Grahf's agenda.. it seems Grahf kept in contact with Melchior and Melchior kept in contact with Balthazar, that's why Grahf reveals himself to Melchior and Old man Bal returns to work on Weltall at the beginning of disc 2. Grahf wants to destroy god (Deus) but later he says he will awaken Deus and use it's power to annihilate the world. i guess it is the same as destroying Deus but i'm thinking Grahf's and Old man Bal's dialogue were mostly for suspense.
i'm more interested in the Anonelbe legend.

what are you Duh:ing about Bob? the legend suggests that The Contact is supposed to take the people on Xenogears planet with him to a
new horizon
.. it makes me think he is going to take them into outer space in Episode VI, however it could me simpler and mean that he would end the conflict of humans on the XG planet and defeat Deus, thus taking people with him to a "peaceful" horizon, or whatever.

That's sloppy. It's also a form of obligation, and I don't have time for that right now. People can think what they want.
I don't have a reference for 'anonelbe,' either, which is also a problem if you want me to add it. I know of something similar - the term in the game is probably a corruption of the original word (like so many other terms they used). Finding that term again, however, isn't as easy as remembering that I've seen it before. It's not a matter of picking up a dictionary - it could be in any one of the many books I've browsed through at school or here at home.
The references section isn't
just
a compendium of terms I've researched for Guardian Angels. It's the result of my research in other areas, and that's all. I happen to come across terms relevant to Xenogears when I study mythology. I don't go out of my way to find them like I used to.
So, if you'd like to see this term added, look for it. You'll be credited if you submit the information. If you'd rather not do the work, you'll just have to wait until I feel like spending my time on it.

Duh. Think about it. Fei kills Deus. Everyone loses their ether powers. The new eternal age of peace begins. If that can't be considered a new horizon, then I don't know what could be.
"Do you think you can do it?" is simply a reference to whether or not Fei can be monitored. Remember that in this context the Emperor is talking to Citan.

yeah, i thought of that in my last post, but you said:

how is that sentence an answer so obvious it warrants a 'Duh'?

According to CiA10386, Anonelbe was actually supposed to be
Ahnenerbe

Awesome Metacod!
so if Ahnenerbe is correct then it could support the theory that Abel, or -The Contact- might have been the result of Project Messiah... if Takahashi had thought of the story that far back then. however, if we ignore Xenosaga/PW and just look at Xenogears it could mean that Cain and the Gazel refered to him as Anonelbe because the legend of him suggested he was the more important ancestral heritage/racial superiority and they named their own Solarians after him later (Solarians were refered to as Shephards -Abel-) which is probably all there is to it.
