Cowboy Bebop Remix?
« on: July 31, 2005, 07:51:54 pm »

So this might be old news, but I just found out about it.  Apparently they're re-releasing Cowboy Bebop on DVD?  I can't seem to find any news about it, only places to buy it from, but apparently they're calling the new DVD Set Cowboy Bebop Remix.  It's going to have a remastered and remixed 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound soundtrack (which doesn't mean much to me, because my speakers are shitty), and newly animated scenes.  What I can't quite figure out is whether or not these are totally new scenes, or if they're just re-animating some of the original stuff to make it look better.
Either way, I'm both excited and nervous about this.  Cowboy Bebop is pretty damn perfect the way it is, so I hope they don't screw anything up.  If they could really make it better somehow, that would be awesome though (although I never once thought, while watching CB, that it could stand to be better).
The best thing about this for me, though, is that it finally gives me a) an excuse to buy CB on DVD and b) a reason to be happy I haven't already done so. Cheesy

So at any rate, has anyone heard anything else about this?

Great! Now I can actually buy a complete boxset....I missed out on the limited edition set the last time...

Also, I don't really have enough money at that particular time...All I have now is the shitty HK bootleg that I was tricked into buying online, thinking it was the original boxset.

Anyway, any CB news is a great news.

p/s: Also waiting for the SC boxset to come out...

So are they selling this only online or will it be in stores too?

The White Phoenix Cowboy Bebop remix post (Extended edition)

But I thought cowboy bebop had 5.1 when it was released before??  This sounds like a cheap money making venture to me, on a par with extended cuts of Star wars films.  So here's a list of potential changes

-Imperial walkers on Ganymede

-Episode one edited so that Vicious fights Spike despite there being no link to the episode's actual plot

- In the episode when Spike fights Vicious in the Church, it will now be changed so that Vicious shoots at Spike first.

- The three old men will do a musical number at the Casino.  Without giving away too much it involves them dropping their pants and singing "Old grey mare she ain't what she used to be..."

- Ed's voice in the dubbed version will now be done by the guy who voiced Shinji in Eva and Ed will be changed back to being a boy.

- Spike will now dramatically scream "noooooooo" when he falls out the window of the church.

- Faye will now wear tracksuit pants and have a longer shirt.  Also she will come from New York instead of Singapore so that she appeals more to the U.S audience.

- The Jazz soundtrack will now be replaced with a new score by John Williams with additional songs by Offspring.

- A cameo by Surtur flushing a toilet.

Man on the Train : Hey, are you a dreamer?
Wiley : Yeah.
Man on the Train : I haven't seen too many around lately. Things have been tough lately for dreamers. They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore. It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language. Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists. The dreamer is banished to obscurity. Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too. By dreaming, every day. Dreaming with our hands and dreaming with our minds. Our planet is facing the greatest problems it's ever faced, ever. So whatever you do, don't be bored, this is absolutely the most exciting time we could have possibly hoped to be alive. And things are just starting

In a similar money-making venture, White Phoenix' post will be altered to include:

-a sentence following the final bullet.

-Surtur thought that falling out the window of the church thing was hilarious, though. Smiley
