There's a huge argument about this in the discussion page at the FFXII wikipedia article.  I think it boils down two things:  the Magick Pot bestiary entry in FFXII states that St. Ajora lived ~2000 years before FFXII and FFT states that St. Ajora lived ~1600 years before the start of that game.  So, using only in-game references, it appears that FFXII is 400 years in FFT's future.  However, the wikipedia dicks consider this "Original Research" and that's what the fight is about.  ROLLEYES.

Your arguments using Moogles and the Ultimania timeline, Surtur, seem valid to me.  With the translation in FFT the way that it is, I have no confidence in that in-game reference.  Besides, we know that Ajora can be reincarnated.  "You're a descendant of the one that killed me before..." and all that.

I find your lack of rhythm disturbing.

Sounds like you meant invalid, then, lol.
Again, I didn't play through FFT very far, and didn't really get to any of the Ajora stuff, so I was going purely from the timeline, there.  But if Ajora can be reincarnated, that would explain why they made it a question ("are they the same person?") in the timeline.  Otherwise, it would seem pretty unlikely that they are not the same person. Tongue

It does seem a little odd though that the timeline would mention something apparently pretty major like that that has nothing to do with FFXII and that happens after it, in that case though.  Unless it was meant to tie into a later game/sequel.

While I think the timeline is interesting, at some point I kinda just shrug and give up trying to figure it out.  I suppose after playing all of the WA games, I'm probably used to "hey it's the same world but, uh, a parallel universe?"

Personally I think that having FFXII's Ivalice be the "ancient lost civilization where airships filled the skies" is very fitting and the obvious choice.  But then, I also think that Lea Monde is Murond Death City.  Monde, Murond, close enough for me.

Where does it say that moogles are extinct?  I don't remember that at all, so I'm curious.  I, uh, avoided everything but the main menu in FFT to get around the hilarious tutorials and stuff.

Haven't played in a long time. I think It was either in the discription for the Sweegy Woods zone or for the Moogle summon.
