Oh no... no... this is worse than the newbie inquisition!!!!!!!!!

It makes you think, doesn't anyone watch good anime, like Evangelion, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop...

But DBZ!?

I really hope you have a good fireproof outfit, because you are about to be severely flamed.

Take a look at the FAQ.

Okay, this isn't 'cause you're a newbie... I should make that clear in the beginning.  I've got nothing against n00bs, and I generally don't treat them any different than the older members (unless I'm kidding around, or they really irritate me), but for the love of god, when [a href=\"http://www.leamonde.net/ikonboard/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=6;t=694\" target=\"_blank\"]someone tells you[/a] to [a href=\"http://www.leamonde.net/ikonboard/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=6;t=678\" target=\"_blank\"]read the FAQs[/a] you should probably [a href=\"http://www.leamonde.net/ikonboard/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=6;t=678\" target=\"_blank\"]read the FAQs[/a].  As a general rule.

Now, you can talk about any other anime you want (hell, a Pokemon thread I wouldn't even mind as much as this... at least that's an alright kid's show...), but please, PLEASE don't mention DBZ in some place where I might see it.  It causes me literal physical pain. ;(

I'm sorry that you keep getting yelled at every time you seem to post... just read the FAQs, and you should be fine ( if you can figure out which parts of that thread actually belong to the FAQ and are not just menial conversation Smiley ).

Methinks the aforementioned FAQ should be compiled to a more presentable form

My mind needs a rest, and a rest it shall get.

Seeing DragonballZ as a thread title is enough to make a sane man mad.

Okay...first of all, I'm not exactly a newbie, okay?  Although I've been gone for a year... I've been around since the very old website...forgive me, I can't remember the name of it.  Second of all.... I did read the FAQ, but I'm sorry, I didn't scroll down, because I just thought they were just replies...  Third of all....I like DBZ, and I'm not afraid to show it.  But if you don't want me to talk about it, then I won't.

I don't mean to be rude... it's just that I've been given a hard time since I got here.

You didn't take reason cool into account.

Go look at Night Anal guy's beating. It will give you a good idea of what might happen if you act idiotic.

Sometimes urges are hard to resist. :colgate:

Just remember, for your own safety, do not talk about DBZ in other people's presence... Keep it to yourself, because as Surtur says "I hate DBZ with a Passion."

So do many other people, like myself.

And kost, are newbies allowed to beat other newbies with frying pans?

Although it might provide some low-level fun for us - bigger losers of leamonde, that is - it is also subject to the fundamental question that goes like this: "what right do I have to mock someone else, whether I am the same, and acted the same as that person"... I'll let you ponder on that for a bit...

However, notice that I didn't state that you admitted your love to BZ or something.. I'm just putting this whole thing on a more abstract layer :p

I value that which adds meaning, thought, and intelligent discourse in society.  DBZ does none of that, but rather appeals to the basest of human instincts.  While I appreciate that in a certain blend, this can indeed be powerful, in the end, the artforms which I hold in esteem are ones that either made me re-evaluate the world I live in, or gave me insight into the world another person sees.

If it truly did neither, then at the very least I'd like it to be entertaining.   Sadly, DBZ's extremely extended exposition followed by an unnecessarily long and pointless battle form its core story threads, and ultimately fail miserably to engage my mind anymore than a strobe light does.  Honestly, at least the first Dragonball tried to be funny and satirical (not that it was particularly good, but it was at least tolerable).

In the end, Dragonball Z is just a porno, replacing sex with violence.

I suppose you could say that TC, but people need to find real anime. Stuff like Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Gundam...

What better reason to mock someone?

DBZ?! *vomits*  Must calm down... *vomits some more*

>>I value that which adds meaning, thought, and intelligent discourse in society

Considering the way they screwed with DBZ in America (lines like the infamous 'parachute' line, etc...) I'd say not only does DBZ not add any intelligent meaning or intelligent thoughts to society, but it actually makes people dumber...
